It is the birthday of the "Russian for Singers" project. Of course, I was coaching Russian long before that. But I consider October 2016, when I carried out my first official classes on Russian lyric diction at the Australian Institute of Music, the start of this bigger project which goes beyond just individual coaching. That time we did scenes from the 1st act of "Eugene Onegin" as a part of AIM Classical Showcase. I was very proud of the results we have managed to achieve in a very short period of time!
So much has happened and has been done during this time - more workshops, working with the Sydney Conservatorium Choir and the Sydney Art Song Society, finding my own unique approach to teaching Russian lyric diction, organizing Russian music concerts in Sydney, starting my Doctorate, interviewing singers and singing teachers on their experience with Russian music, launching Russian for Singers web site and YouTube channel, over 12 000 views and over 400 subscribers from all over the World...
So much more to be done in the coming years!
