Our Founder
Our founder and coach, Dr Natalia Melnik, is a classical singer and a native Russian speaker based in Sydney, Australia.
Natalia was born in Moscow and moved to Sydney in 2013. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, with her research focused on making Russian vocal music more accessible to non-Russian-speaking singers.
She has been coaching Russian since 2016 and has developed her unique method of teaching Russian diction for Singers, which is based on specially designed diction scores (sheet music that incorporates IPA and translation), audio and video diction tutorials.
Her work with non–Russian speaking singers learning Russian music is based on the research that she conducted as a part of her Doctorate degree.
Since 2016 Natalia has acted as a Russian Language coach with the Sydney Conservatorium Choir, the Australian Institute of Music, the Sydney Art Song Society, The Opera and Art Song Collective, Ars Nova School (USA) and tens of individual singers from around the world.
Natalia is a dedicated voice teacher and an active performer, specialising in coloratura arias and Russian music.
