Rimsky-Korsakov workshop with the Sydney Art Song Society

We are very excited to announce the start of our collaboration with the Sydney Art Song Society! Their first event this year will be dedicated to Rimsky-Korsakov's Art Songs featuring Natalia Melnik as presenter and language coach.

Natalia was born in Moscow, Russia, moved to Sydney in 2013 and has been passionately involved in both music and literature from an early age. Natalia has performed as a soloist in Russia and Europe as well as publishing stories and articles. Since moving to Australia, Natalia has gained a Graduate Certificate in Music (AIM) and is currently a Masters Research Student at University of Sydney. Natalia’s research is focusing on identifying the main difficulties non-Russian speaking singers face approaching Russian repertoire, and exploring ways to overcome these issues. She currently performs in recitals, specialising in arias by Puccini, Rossini and Mozart as well as Russian Art Songs. Natalia is an experienced Russian Language for Singers vocal coach, working for Australian Institute of Music, Grevillea Ensemble and as a private coach.

This is a great opportunity for every singer to learn more about this amazing composer and his music, get an intensive training on Russian Lyric Diction, add a new Russian song to the repertoire, prepare it for exams and competitions.

Schedule: Singing in Russian workshop - Mar 18th 2018 (Sunday), Sydney CBD Presentation & Concert - April 22nd (Sunday)
